Path of Exile 2 is an action RPG developed and published by Grinding Gear Games. As the first sequel in the Path of Exile series, the game was released on Windows PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and Series S on December 6, 2024 as a paid early access, unlike its predecessor which was free-to-play.

POE 2 introduces a new skill system, including 240 active skill gems and 200 support gems. At the same time, there will be 12 character classes in the full version of the game, each with three Ascendancy classes. The sequel will also include many other changes, such as permanent servants, triggered skills, game engine and graphics improvements, and more. Players will conquer the dangerous continent of Wraeclast through these new features and changes.

Path of Exile 2 Currency System

Currency items can be found as drops from monsters or chests, bought directly from different vendors in town, or received through the use of the vendor recipe system by trading specific configurations of items to any town vendor. Currency items play a large role in the player to player trading system, with rare orbs able to be traded for powerful equipment, or even other types of orbs that a player might need at the time for crafting.

Basic currency items are those that have no specific drop restrictions (in-game wording: non-league), such as which areas or monsters they can drop from. Some examples of basic currency items are Exalted Orbs, Chaos Orbs and Mirrors of Kalandra .
